Whether shopping, filling up at the gas station, or shopping online: For many people, the PAYBACK app has long been a part of everyday life. This is confirmed once again by a survey that names PAYBACK the top-rated app across all categories: In a recent study conducted by Focus Money in collaboration with the analysis and consulting firm ServiceValue, over 100,000 users were asked to select the “most user-friendly app of 2026” from a total of over 600 apps across approximately 50 categories. The PAYBACK app emerged as the winner.
“The PAYBACK app is so user-friendly primarily because it makes it possible to shop, collect points, and save money with more than 700 top-tier partners using just one app. In addition, you can use it to make mobile payments, play games, redeem points, and even store other loyalty cards in our integrated wallet,” says PAYBACK Managing Director Dominik Dommick. “PAYBACK partners can also link their app to ours to conveniently offer their customers the best of both worlds. We will continue to develop our app, always with a clear focus on what users need and what makes shopping easier,” said Dommick.
The PAYBACK app’s immediate ecosystem also shows strong results in the ranking: Netto Marken-Discount, Amazon, and MILES - other companies from the PAYBACK partner network—are recognized for their apps.
The study is based on an online survey in which participants, from a manageable selection of apps, choose those they have personally used over the past twelve months and rate them in response to the question: “How satisfied are you overall with the use of the following applications (apps) as smartphone services?” A mean score is calculated for each app rated using a five-point response scale. The rule is: the lower the average score, the higher the satisfaction of the respondents. Apps whose satisfaction scores are higher than the category average are designated as “TOP APP.” The app ranked first in each category is awarded the title “BEST APP.” The study was initiated by Focus Money and conducted independently of the providers being evaluated.
