PAYBACK App Now Features a Multifunctional AI-Powered Search

The “Pointy” chatbot provides customers with information via “PAYBACK Integrated Search” and also suggests relevant offers and coupons

Whether it’s a partner, product, coupon, offer, or specific questions about the program: The new, fully integrated “Pointy” search feature in the PAYBACK app provides all the answers instantly and through a dialogue with customers. For the first time, this feature combines the search for PAYBACK content with intelligent, dialogue-based user guidance, thereby merging the logic of traditional search engines with the interaction patterns of modern AI systems. “This is the first time so many features have been combined in a shopping app’s search function. With ‘Pointy,’ we’re providing our 35 million PAYBACK customers with even better and faster navigation through the mobile PAYBACK world and connecting them directly to relevant offers,” said PAYBACK Managing Director Dominik Dommick.

According to Dommick, the goal is to provide customers with the right information from the PAYBACK world exactly when they need it—whether they’re looking for a partner, the right coupon, or an answer to a specific question. This is achieved not through conventional methods, but through an intelligent combination of a search engine, a chatbot, and AI. “And, of course, Pointy is constantly learning and gaining a better understanding of users’ wishes and questions,” says Dommick.

The PAYBACK app is one of the most widely used apps in Germany and is used daily for shopping and collecting points, redeeming rewards, and activating coupons, as well as for mobile payments, playing games, and as a digital wallet for other loyalty cards. It has already been named the top app three times this year: WirtschaftsWoche named it “Germans’ Favorite App of 2026,” the Süddeutsche Zeitung named it “App with the Greatest Added Value of 2026,” and Focus Money named it “Most User-Friendly App.”
