New: PAYBACK points on television for watching television

Teleshopping channel CHANNEL21 is a new partner for Germany’s largest loyalty programme

From tomorrow, PAYBACK customers will also be able to collect points through the teleshopping channel CHANNEL21. Hence, collecting points is not only possible in conventional stores, online and mobile, but also through a television channel. Customers will be rewarded with one PAYBACK point per full euro on orders via the TV channel, the CHANNEL21 online shop and the order hotline. The channel was founded in 2001, and is among the top three teleshopping channels in Germany, reaching 95% of all German TV households, and has more than 700,000 active customers in Germany.

Klaus Skripalle, Managing Director of CHANNEL21, describes the new collaboration: “We see the cooperation with PAYBACK as an attractive loyalty programme for our viewers. At the same time, of course, we are also aiming to spread CHANNEL21’s brand recognition to the target group of PAYBACK’s 20 million members.” Along with the conventional “reward” of PAYBACK points with every order, CHANNEL21 also intends to award its viewers special points on specific articles and show formats.

“We are looking forward to working with CHANNEL21 – a partner that provides its viewers with a convenient and very attractive shopping experience through the combination of TV and internet,” says Walter Lukner, Managing Director of PAYBACK. “CHANNEL 21 is an excellent addition to our strong circle of partners and its entertaining video format is a further boost to the attractiveness of our programme,” says Lukner. CHANNEL21 sells a full range of goods, including fashion, jewellery, health and beauty products, household goods and electronics.

The PAYBACK card is currently presented at cash desks 3 million times a day, with customers collecting points in-store, online and on the move from over 600 companies. The most recent big player companies to join the programme were REWE, Dehner, Opel, Deutsche Telekom and Thalia. The PAYBACK card can be found in around 50 percent of German households and, according to TNS Emnid, is the third most common card in German wallets behind only the EC payment card and credit card. More and more customers – currently 3 million – are using the programme via the PAYBACK app on their smartphones.
