PAYBACK continues to expand its multichannel marketing expertise – new “Digital Marketing” department headed by Magnus Schmidt

Munich, 30 June 2012 – PAYBACK continues to expand its multichannel expertise in online marketing. 
From 1 July 2012, digital marketing expert Magnus Schmidt (41) will be heading up the newly founded “Digital Marketing” department, with the aim of driving forward one of the key areas of development at PAYBACK.

The acceleration of our development as a hybrid multichannel marketing platform combining analogue and digital communication channels is creating entirely new challenges for our organisation,” says Dominik Dommick, Managing Director of Marketing & Digital at PAYBACK. “That's why we're delighted to have Magnus Schmidt on board. He has extensive expertise in digital marketing and has built up an excellent network of contacts in the online marketing industry.”



Schmidt joins the PAYBACK team from media marketing agency United Internet Media AG in Munich, which markets the online sites WEB.DE, GMX, 1&1, Mail.com and SmartShopping.de. Most recently he held the position of member of the divisional management team, with responsibility, among other things, for strategic design and planning and the operational implementation of new digital B2C products and technologies at United Internet Dialog, the dialogue marketing specialist of United Internet Media AG.



Previously, Schmidt headed up the Media & Online Marketing department of arvato Bertelsmann AG until mid-2008. Here, he was jointly responsible for the design and implementation of new performance and online marketing business models and for membership growth. Born in Ulm, Germany, Schmidt has worked at leading Internet companies or organisations with a digital orientation for more than 12 years. He has already published several articles on the topic of digital communication and is co-founder and director of Lab E-Mail 360° in the Bundesverband Digitale Wirtschaft (BVDW), which represents the interests of companies in the field of interactive marketing, digital content and interactive added value.
