Through an email newsletter with a circulation of millions, as well as through social media, PAYBACK had called for collected points to be donated to this specific cause. The fantastic sum was collected in less than a week. 100 percent of the points donated will go to aid projects for the victims of the floods, including Aktion Deutschland Hilft (ADH), HELP, the Regine Sixt Children's Aid Foundation, Caritas Bonn and the German Red Cross (DRK). The money will be used to provide emergency aid in the affected areas.

"I am very moved by the fact that PAYBACK and its customers are helping the people affected by this flood disaster with so many donations. Our alliance organizations have been in constant action since day one: initially, they helped with evacuations and the rescue of missing people. Currently, they are helping with cleanup work, for example, with emergency generators, building dryers and solar lamps. They also continue to care for people in emergency shelters, distribute food and provide medical assistance. Meanwhile, they are coordinating with other organizations, initiatives and authorities to help the affected people as effectively as possible - also in the medium and long term," said Manuela Roßbach, Executive Director of Aktion Deutschland Hilft (ADH).

"We are very grateful for this generous donation. Many people in the disaster-affected areas are desperate because they have lost virtually everything. That's why it's important that we help them quickly and promptly," says DRK Secretary General and Chairman of the Board, Christian Reuter

PAYBACK has made it possible to donate collected points to a good cause ever since the program was launched in 2000. The "PAYBACK Spendenwelt" (PAYBACK world of donations), one of the largest donation platforms in Germany, has been in existence for over ten years. The bonus program launched this platform together with its charity partner Betterplace.org. There are around 150 aid projects to choose from. At payback.de/spendenwelt, PAYBACK customers can easily donate points and help at any time - for disaster relief, children's aid, environmental and animal projects, among others.
