PAYBACK expands Mobile & Location Based Services department

Experienced loyalty manager Michael Eichhorn’s future responsibilities include development of new mobile app

As part of its extensive digitisation activities, PAYBACK has taken another important strategic decision and made the necessary personnel change: experienced loyalty manager Michael Eichhorn is to take over as head of the Mobile & Location Based Services (LBS) department in future. The LBS department enables PAYBACK customers to receive relevant offers directly in store via mobile and location-based services, and also includes the new mobile payment function PAYBACK PAY. “Digitising the point of sale is currently one of the most important issues for us and our partners. With his many years of CRM expertise and understanding of PAYBACK partners, Michael Eichhorn is the very best person to bring together the analogue and digital commercial worlds,” said PAYBACK CEO Dominik Dommick.

Eichhorn began his career at PAYBACK in 1999. After completing a business administration degree at Munich’s Ludwig Maximilian University, he first worked in the Marketing & Sales department. He then moved to other positions in Online and in Project and Process Management before switching to Partner Management, where he took over team responsibility for various portfolios belonging to major PAYBACK partners such as Aral. He was also responsible for the development of numerous strategic projects focusing on the expansion and internationalisation of Partner Management. Most recently, as department leader, he played a significant role in the integration and further development of the successful partnership with REWE.
