REWE Group is further expanding its cooperation with PAYBACK

PENNY customers will also be able to earn points in the course of the year 2018 – REWE extends its partnership by five years.

The REWE Group is continuing to expand its cooperation with PAYBACK. REWE customers have been collecting and redeeming points in both, the branches and when online shopping ever since March 2014, and in the course of the year 2018, PENNY will start with PAYBACK in all its 2,150 markets, too. The formal agreement was signed by the companies in Cologne. Customers have been earning points since November 2016 at REWE’s own online shop, ZooRoyal.de. REWE has extended the successful partnership with PAYBACK for its 3,300 stores for another five years.

“I am delighted that, in addition to REWE and ZooRoyal.de, we will offer PAYBACK to PENNY customers, too. All in all, they will have the opportunity to collect and redeem points at around 5,500 shops throughout Germany as well as in our online shops. With coupons and additional special promotions, the individual PAYBACK accounts will soon show a very convincing points balance. Shopping in any of our supermarkets, discounters or on our e-commerce portals will now be even more attractive – our customers can save money by redeeming their points,” said Hilmar Hübers, Head of Retail Strategy & Analytics for Germany in the REWE Group today, Thursday, in Cologne.

“The first discounter at PAYBACK! It is a huge asset for our programme that points will be collected in the future with PENNY – both for consumers and for all partners. Relevant partners and relevant offers via relevant channels – this is what makes PAYBACK so successful and why 30 million customers in Germany are so enthusiastic about our services,” explains PAYBACK CEO Bernhard Brugger. PAYBACK has experienced an average yearly double digit growth in customers, incentivized sales and points issued from 2013 to 2016. At the moment, PAYBACK cards are presented 3.8 million times a day at the tills and the PAYBACK mobile app is used more and more. The PAYBACK app has already been downloaded 12 million times and is one of the top three shopping apps in Germany because you can not only collect points, but also activate coupons and pay with the smartphone.
