Points take off: PAYBACK points available now for Lufthansa flights

From now on, customers will receive points on all flights with Lufthansa when they book these online via PAYBACK.de. This was agreed in a deal signed between Europe's biggest airline and PAYBACK, Germany's leading bonus programme. Booking a domestic German Lufthansa flight earns travellers 100 points, while flights within Europe earn 250 points. The bonus for international long-haul flights is 500 points. As the partnership kicks off, travellers can collect three times as many points with a coupon which is valid until 28 February 2015. "Now customers can take off and collect points while they're at it," commented PAYBACK CEO, Bernhard Brugger. "We are very pleased to have integrated the exceptionally attractive Lufthansa brand into our portfolio of partners. This will enable us to add even more value to PAYBACK for our 25 million customers."

"The offerings of Miles & More and PAYBACK make them market leaders," said Jens Bischof, Chief Commercial Officer of Lufthansa German Airlines.  "The cooperation gives customers an exciting new option for collecting miles and points. At the same time, PAYBACK will enable Lufthansa to new customer segments. This will strengthen our position in the growing leisure travel market." Customers can collect either miles or points on flights. Miles & More members will also benefit from the cooperative deal, because PAYBACK points can also be redeemed for mileage.

The PAYBACK card is currently used for more than three million transactions per day. Customers can collect points at more than 600 brick-and-mortar businesses, online and on their mobile devices. REWE, Thalia, Opel and Deutsche Telekom were just some of the numerous major companies to join the programme recently. PAYBACK is the best-known, most popular and most highly trusted programme in Germany and has a household penetration rate of 54 percent. According to TNS Emnid, it has already garnered third place in German wallets after EC and credit cards. As many as 4.3 million customers use the programme via mobile apps.
